We are IT Recruitment Specialists partnered with a prestigious Global Consultancy who required a Devops Engineer- (Willing to spend 1-2 days a week on site - right now it's more like 1 day a fortnight. Bristol (Filton Abbey Wood) is the main site at the moment but could be London (Holborn) for one of their public sector Clients based in the UK.

Role and tasks

Devops Engineer

Key Skills
. Predominantly (but not exclusively) working on AWS
. Extensive use of Kubernetes and Docker, including Openshift
. Extensive experience of Gitlab/Github for source control
. Good understanding of CI/CD's role in delivering software is more important than specific tooling - given we're having to adapt traditional develop low/deploy high approaches to fit our classified integration and deployment needs
. Extensive experience of Linux, including Scripting, etc.

Nice to have
. Experience of deploying to Azure
. Knowledge of classified working practices/risk appetite/policies in classified environment
. We're working across security domains, so any knowledge of cross domain solutions or air gapped is a plus

AWS as initial hosting provider
. Containerised apps using Docker and Kubernetes
. Apache Jena

. PostGIS
. Kafka
. Apache NiFi
. AWS Cognito
. HTTP REST, GraphQL, SPARQL interfaces

The team is small and directly exposed to client stakeholders of varying technical knowledge so strong communication skills are essential
